Hit-and-run auto-pedestrian accident injures one 12/12/14

12/12/14 Aurora, CO – A serious hit-and-run auto-pedestrian accident occurred mid-morning on this date at the intersection of S. Peoria St. and E. Dartmouth Ave.  A man was struck while walking through the intersection by a female driver who then crashed her car into a road sign and fled the accident scene on foot.  The victim was treated on the scene initially by EMS personnel with a private ambulance service that happened upon the accident prior to to Aurora Fire Rescue arriving.  The run-driver was captured on foot in the area of the crash by Aurora cops and was transported to a local hospital where it was determined she was not injured.  The pedestrian who was struck was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition but scanner radio traffic and the damage to the windshield of the car that struck him lead us to believe he was seriously hurt.  It is unknown to us what charges if any the driver will face.  Shane Anthony reporting AuroraNews1.com

Great photos, hit and runs are on the rise, often the reason is no insurance, alcohol or drugs or even stolen cars. Very unfortunate for the victims who rarely see any insurance coverage for life changing injuries.
