Car is stolen with child inside, Cops chase theft suspect and safely recover tot 12/29/14

12/29/14 Aurora, CO – Around 8:30PM tonight District 1 Aurora cops jumped a car which had been stolen just minutes earlier with a child inside and then chased the auto-theft suspect who fled the stolen car on foot.  The whole situation went down in the area of E. 23rd Ave. and N. Jamaica St. in North Aurora.   The car had just been reported stolen 10 minutes earlier from a house several blocks away, when a sharp officer spotted it on 23rd Ave. between Ironton and Jamaica streets and gave foot chase to the driver.  The car-theft suspect escaped somewhere in the 2200 block of N. Jamaica St. but left fresh footprints in the snow.  The missing child was thankfully found safe-and-sound in the stolen car and returned to his (or her) family by Aurora PD.  Although the theft-suspect escaped the scene on foot, the cops processed the car for evidence and photographed footprints left behind in the snow.  If you have any info about who might have taken this car please contact APD.   Shane Anthony reporting AuroraNews1.com
