01/03/15 Denver, CO – An armed-man was shot by an Aurora Police officer on the Denver side of S. Havana St. early this morning. According to Denver Police who are investigating the officer-involved shooting, the incident began around 2:30AM this morning when both Denver Police and the Aurora Police Department (APD) received a report of shots-fired in the vicinity of an apartment complex located at 955 S. Havana Street in Denver. APD co-responded to the call with Denver PD as it is located on the Denver/Aurora border of this stretch of S. Havana St. Upon arrival an Aurora officer observed an armed-man in the courtyard of the Meridian Gardens apartment complex and fired upon the armed-man striking him once. The man was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The shooting scene was taken over by Denver PD for investigation and processing.
