Stolen car thief slams into 3 other cars causing injuries 01/28/15

01/28/15 Aurora, CO – Exclusive Report: A stolen car thief in southeast Aurora piled into 3 other cars on this date injuring others and himself.  Aurora cops had spotted the stolen car a brief time earlier around E. Hampden Ave. and S. Buckley Rd. at about 6PM.  Marked patrol cars lit the car up with emergency lights but the car did not stop.  Aurora PD did not follow or pursue the car after that.  A short time later the driver of the stolen car slammed into 3 other cars near the intersection of S. Chambers Rd. and E. Mexico Ave.  No APD units were following the stolen car at the time of the crash according to police scanner traffic.  At least one victim from a Chevy Suburban was injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital.  The stolen car driver himself was transported by ambulance as well.  The owner of the stolen car showed up at the crash site and said it “Looked like a scene from Grand Theft Auto!”.  The northbound lanes of S. Chambers Rd. were closed from Iliff Ave. north to Mexico for over an hour while APD investigated the crash site.
